Denver International Airport is a major international airport located in northeastern Denver, Colorado and is operated by the City and County of Denver.
After the airport's runways were completed but before it opened, the airport used the IATA code DVX, then later took over DEN and KDEN from Stapleton when the latter airport closed.
The airfield is arranged in a pinwheel formation around the midfield terminal and concourses. This layout allows independent flow of aircraft to and from each runway without any queuing or overlap with other runways.
